about

This is the 2nd track I recorded in the Summer of 2012 as part of the 12 songs in 12 months project for datewiththeknife...the idea was to make myself record a song a month for 12 months...(1)...it was a mental project to do...it kept me honest and mapped out a progression that I enjoyed being part of...some of those tracks being main stays in datewiththeknife's setlist as well as rerecorded for datewiththeknife self titled (2)...this track has never been played live and kinda doesnt fit...bearFury...stupid name right...but if you rearrange the letters hey presto you get February...kinda cool right...yep, its not...its lame (3)...but its what it is...What I remember about this tune was how easy and quickly I recorded it...it might have something to do with the fact its only fours chords...probably...I recorded the guitars in one night...not thinking much of it I then recorded the drum intro...the og drum intro was at a slower pace...and I never really liked it...so as always through frustration I deleted it and recorded the whole song in one take (drums)...I deleted them as well...but playing the song faster came out of those mistakes...I experimented with screwdrivers and a bender on this track...there is a whole track...hidden in the noise...dedicated to squeals and screeches...the vocals for this song were scribbled on a supermarket receipt (4) in my car...I didnt have them earmarked for this tune...they just existed...when It came to recording vocals I found the scrap of paper with scribbles on it and thought...meh, this will do...the last repeated lines of this track about Karens and Wendy's was an after thought...after visiting a friend he mentioned in a throwaway comment that there are too many Karens and too many Wendys...throwaway for him...grabby grabby for me...that line was also scribbled on a scrap piece of paper and thrown on the floor of the car...I found it on the drive home...recorded that night.

lyrics

Thats part of the problem
It got stolen at night
This heart is hopeless
It just bleeds and is fucken worthless
I cant even speak
Without giving away
Shattered whores in a choir
Beg me to give it away
Have you died like me
Did you ever thought I could
Sit and hide from the world
So I can breath
And when we talk
Can we be friends, can we be friends, can we be friends
Theres too many Karens
Theres too many Wendys
