This is a track from the up and coming Polaroids of Polarbears EP...up and coming what the fuck does that mean....meh...This song was originally a wall of noise with screamed, yelled....foaming at mouth inducing vocals...It was pretty rough and not so pretty...I might actually release the demo version at some point and pass it off as a completely different track...no one will notice...anyway it started out life a lot different than what it has become...the chord pattern was created on the couch watching my little pony with my daughters....a lot of my melodies start on the couch watching cartoons...the lyrics were written quite quickly when visiting family in Auckland...its weird writing lyrics secretly so no ones asks what you are writing...I would scribble on pieces of scrap paper and put them in my pocket and then try and make sense of them all later...I enjoy that part of the mixed up song writing process I go through...I recorded on two guitars Jazzy Jeff and Junior, my beaten up cheaply made guitars that sound utterly terrible to some...but to me I hear perfection through shit...anywhose it Brown Boxes is a name of a Spinto Band song and I didn't really want to use it as their Brown Boxes is far better than my Brown Boxes...I couldn't think of another name that I really felt worked.
